3 kidney transplants due to painkillers 🥲45-year-old former Croatia international: Who knows how long I can live

Former Croatian international Klasnic has undergone three kidney transplant surgeries. Because the painkillers provided by Bremen caused his kidney disease to worsen, he received a compensation of 4 million pounds from his former club in 2020.

He talked about his thoughts on his unfortunate experience in the documentary. He said: "Who knows how long I can live? I am sick and need to take medicine, but I still have to be grateful that I am still alive."

"Of course I am angry. I don't want anyone to go through what I endured. No matter how much compensation I get, it can't be exchanged. My health."

"If you want to perform on the court, it is difficult to persist without taking painkillers. I think any professional sport is inseparable from painkillers, but if I had known that I had kidney problems, I would never have taken those drugs."

Klashnic played for Werder Bremen from 2001 to 2008. In 2007, he suffered kidney failure and underwent his first kidney transplant, which sidelined him for 10 months. The following year, Klashnic claimed that club doctors had been aware of his condition as early as 2002 and filed a lawsuit against them. This also became the reason why he left the club when his contract expired because he no longer wanted to work with these medical staff.
