Buffon: Playing abroad is good for Leoni, now the Serie A is no longer the end of the players

18-year-old Italian central defender Leoni joined Liverpool from Parma this summer. Buffon first said: "Leoni? It's a pity, but if we consider the boy's career and how he can grow in the Premier League, I think playing abroad will be good for him."
Buffon continued: "In some historical periods, we cannot be afraid to tell the facts and recognize ourselves. Maybe the Serie A is currently becoming a transitional league, not as the end of the players as in the past."
However, Buffon pointed out: "But this does not mean that we cannot do a good job in youth training and provide talents to the national team. If players like Leoni, Bastoni, Calafiori play abroad, this is not a bad thing for the Italian national team, which means we can have a competitive national team."
