According to Juventus, Cambiaso's contract renewal has stalled.
In Juventus' 5-0 Ain's Club World Cup debut, although many players performed well, Cambiaso was undoubtedly not one of them. His performance was average and not outstanding. Except for being replaced before the end of the first half, the overall feeling was that he had not recovered to 100% in his physical condition. The frequent injuries in the past year have undoubtedly affected his recovery.
Cambiyaso's contract renewal has also reached a complete stagnation, and no contact has been made between the two sides. However, Juventus senior executives plan to start negotiations after the end of the Club World Cup. The first contact will pave the way for negotiations and clarify each other's positions. If necessary, they can also start discussing the possibility of extending the contract to 2030.
AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest have expressed interest in Cambiaso in the past few weeks. It is worth mentioning that Manchester City also tried to introduce Cambiaso in the winter window, but stopped facing the 80 million euro asking price offered by Juventus.
However, Cambiaso himself has a clear position. In an interview with Turin Sports a few days ago, he said that he hoped to stay at Juventus and had never made a request to leave the team.
