Martinelli: I m just trying to find space, Arsenal plays more efficiently

Martinelli helped Arsenal beat Athletic Bilbao 2-0 away in the Champions League last night. The Brazilian striker also accepted an interview with Arsenal's official website after the game.

Martinelli was replaced by Arteta in the 71st minute, and broke the deadlock with a counterattack just 36 seconds later. The assist was Trosad, who also came on as a substitute; and with 3 minutes left in the game, the Belgian received Martinelli's return pass and completed the goal, helping Arsenal lock in a valuable 3 points. After the game, Martinelli was named the best player of the game, expressing his joy for the victory and describing how he broke through the opponent's defense and how the team dealt with the dynamic Basque home atmosphere.

"I'm very happy with the results, the goals and the assists. It's really hard to win here, and I think the team is doing well, especially in the second half. I'm also happy to be named Player of the Game," Martinelli explained.

"When I was on the court, I just tried to find a gap, and I told my teammates this on the bench. I just played for one minute and saw the huge space behind me. Trosad saw me and gave me a beautiful pass, and I just had to send the ball into the net."
