Recently, Italian Sports and Youth Minister Andrea Abdidi was interviewed by lgiorno, who talked about the impact of the sale of the San Siro Stadium on the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics.

Abdidi said: "The Olympics plan has been determined, the opening ceremony will be held as scheduled and will be an extraordinary global event." He made this remark when he participated in the "Can More for Women's Sports" event in Milan.

Abodi added: "I don't want to reveal too much in advance, but the opening ceremony will be connected to other iconic locations of the Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo Winter Olympics and show it to the world. I hope there will be a new modern stadium in Milan and Italy. We have an urgent need for this, and UEFA has pointed out this clearly."

"We must respect history and look forward to the future. Other countries have achieved this future, but in Italy it is slow. In Milan, we need to prove that we can achieve this future, a modern, accessible and functional stadium to meet the needs of football and other entertainment activities."

Abodi believes: "San Siro is one of our historical symbols, But it does not represent the future. I think we should combine respect for the past with desire for the future. I call it 'the nostalgia of the future', and San Siro cannot express this future. I hope the club will eventually have the opportunity to leverage its investment capabilities and creativity to build a new San Siro in the area and promote the city's development. "

The Milan City Council will vote on the sale of the San Siro Stadium to Milan and Inter Milan, and Abbotti said: "I respect everyone's position, I will not interfere with the decision of the city council, but I strongly hope that the new San Siro will be born." The side that supports the preservation and renovation of the old stadium and the side that supports Mayor Sara's proposal to sell to Milan and Inter Milan and demolish the old stadium. This issue has become a national political issue. Democratic Secretary-General Schlein also expressed her views when participating in the Solidarity Novel event in Milan: "I know that the Democratic Party in Milan is dealing with this issue, and I am confident in their work and discussions." The resolution at the San Siro Stadium will be submitted to the city for approval next week. After obtaining the city's approval, the resolution will be reviewed by at least two committees and will be decided by the city council. The first meeting is expected to be held at Palais Marino on September 29 to discuss the sale of the San Siro Stadium. However, environmentalists and some Democratic members may object to the decision.
