According to TA reporters Doug Haller and Mike Vorkunov jointly reported, Suns and Mercury owner Matt Ishbia has a legal dispute with the team's two small shareholders. The shareholders accused Ishbia of using the team as his "private cash machine" and concealing spending details from them.
In a legal document, two shareholders claimed that Ishbia mismanaged the two professional basketball teams, accused them of financial misconduct, and tried to use capital increase requirements to force them to give up part of their team shares.
