👀Anthony: NBA players go to strip clubs not just to watch erotic dances, but to relax their thoughts

Former NBA star Cameron Anthony spoke frankly about the spare time of NBA players in his podcast show "7 Points in Brooklyn" and mentioned the strip club culture that emerged after 2000.

Among NBA players, some are notorious for their luxurious off-field lifestyle. Athletes make millions of dollars in early adulthood, so not everyone can use the money wisely. However, Anthony believes that liking for luxury and high-profile lifestyle is a misunderstanding of NBA players. "Most strippers will tell you that athletes are stingy. They don't spend much money in strip clubs. They act low-key and don't spend big money there. They will tell you directly, don't look too high at those athletes."

"It's very low-key because in those days, it was forbidden to go to that kind of place as athletes," Anthony said in his recollection of his experience in 2000-2010. "People have a misunderstanding about NBA players, that you are strictly managed. In fact, you only have two or three hours of training every day, and the rest of the time is free. You can really arrange it yourself. Your responsibility lies with yourself."

Anthony believes that athletes try to keep a low profile. They go to strip clubs not to enjoy the dance, but to enjoy the buffet, atmosphere and good music there. He said: "Everyone thought you went there for erotic dance. Actually, it wasn't. You went there to relax. You went there just to relax and clear your mind. You might have a drink and eat something. Most strip clubs have great food, especially chicken wings. So, you chose to go there because there is everything. There is music, food, and a good atmosphere."

From Dennis Rodman to James Harden and Ja Morant now, NBA players are often found in strip clubs when traveling away. Anthony points out that veterans in the league think strip clubs are part of NBA culture and they see it as a place to relax.

Overall, Anthony believes that NBA players are not keen on living the luxurious life that attracts a lot of attention. However, this does not prevent them from enjoying some luxury in team activities, such as going to a strip club.
