Milan and Inter Milan issued a joint statement this week, officially announcing the acquisition of the San Siro Stadium. Milan club president Scaloni talked about this in an interview with the BBC.

Scaroni first said: "This is a historic moment for us. It has taken us five or six years to get to this point, and we have received strong support from the club owner Red Bird Group."

Scaroni went on to say: "The San Siro Stadium was excluded by UEFA from hosting the 2032 European Cup. It does not have all the supporting facilities required for modern football. So we urgently need a new stadium. "

Milan and Inter Milan will build a new stadium together. Scaloni said: "We have always maintained a good relationship with the Inter Milan club, so it is a reasonable choice to continue to share the new stadium and share the construction and management costs."

Finally, Scaloni said: "At present, Italian football is lagging behind the Premier League. When a new outstanding player appears, he will often choose to play in the Premier League because he can get a higher salary there."
