Atletico Madrid officially announced that it will renew its contract with 33-year-old midfielder and captain Cork until June 2026. The original contract of the player expires on the 30th of this month. Cork's contract includes the option of renewing the contract for one year at the end of the season, and the two sides have reached an agreement on this.
Atletico Madrid youth training, Cork made his first appearance for the first team on September 19, 2009. So far, he has played 681 games, making him the player with the most games in Atletico Madrid history. In 681 games, Cork contributed 48 goals and 119 assists.
