According to Daily Sports, 14-year-old Sevilla girl Sandra Peña chose to end her life due to long-term bullying at school. After Real Betis learned of the tragedy, they decided to hold a commemorative event during the La Liga match against Villarreal.

Sandra’s tragedy once again reminds people that necessary measures must be taken to prevent bullying in schools. After Sandra suffered humiliation and abuse, the school did not initiate corresponding intervention mechanisms. Her family said no one reached out to help her, and she eventually committed suicide after returning home from school on October 13.

After the news broke, social media was flooded with sympathy and support for Sandra and her family. The city of Seville has also united to support those who are suffering from the loss of Sandra.

After learning that Sandra had worn the team's jersey during her lifetime, Real Betis decided to commemorate her in the 9th round of La Liga against Villarreal and posted a "Memorial of Sandra Peña" message on social media.
