According to famous reporter Shams, Smart reached a buyout agreement with the Washington Wizards, planning to sign a two-year, $11 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers after passing a clarification period.
After being traded to the Wizards in the 24-25 season, Smart played 15 games for the team, averaging 9.3 points, 2.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game, and a three-point shooting percentage of 39.2%, which is the highest in his career.
