French media: Mbaye will not be able to participate in the UEFA Youth League this season and will return to the Paris Saint-Germain first team

10:50am, 4 November 2025Football

According to French media culturepsg, Paris Saint-Germain youngster Mbaye is no longer able to participate in the UEFA Youth League this season.

17-year-old forward Mbaye had already entered the Paris Saint-Germain first team, but last weekend he was returned to the Paris Saint-Germain U19 team. This is because Mbaye's performance has been ups and downs this season. Although the club still trusts him, it arranged for him to return to the U19 team to recover first.

However, Mbaye will not be able to represent the Paris Saint-Germain U19 team in tonight's UEFA Youth League match. Because according to Article 28, paragraph 7, of the UEFA competition rules, "Any player who has played three or more times in the Champions League, Europa League, or UEFA Champions League in the 2025-26 season will not be eligible to participate in the Youth Champions League this season."

Mbaye has already played three times in the Champions League this season (15 minutes against Atlanta, 65 minutes against Barcelona, and 18 minutes against Leverkusen), so he has lost the qualification to participate in the Youth Champions League this season. It is expected that Mbaye will return to Paris Saint-Germain first-team training in the middle of this week to prepare for the Champions League game against Bayern.

In addition, another 18-year-old player from Paris Saint-Germain, Njanntu, has already played twice in the Champions League this season. If he plays once more in the Champions League, he will not be able to represent the Paris Saint-Germain U19 team in the Youth Champions League this season.
