Tudor: Juventus expected goals are twice as high as Lazio s We all have to reflect

In the 8th round of Serie A this morning, Juventus lost 0-1 away to Lazio. Juventus coach Tudor attended the post-match press conference.

How do you evaluate the poor results of the past few weeks? After losing to Real Madrid in the Champions League in midweek, did you expect this game to be like this?

This is a very bad moment. We prepared for this game in all aspects and treated it as an important game. We could have started over with a good win. But we couldn't score, despite everything we tried, and our first mistake allowed the opponent to score. We have to stick together, stay united and give more for the team. We got into the penalty area a lot and our expected goals were twice as high as Lazio's, but we had to put the ball in the back of the net. We tried a two-striker formation and then introduced Yildiz and Oponda, but it was not enough.

Will the upcoming schedule help?

Every game is difficult for us, I have said this many times. Even when we only played one game a week and faced weaker opponents, we only won by a narrow margin of one goal. This team has never won by a score of 3-0 or 4-0. Still, it's nice to be able to jump into new races right away.

What does it mean to take a step back? Friends, we will only move forward.

Have you met with the club management?

No, I only talked to the whole team. We had a chat in the dressing room and everyone was disappointed, but that was it.

The team's focus has dropped, have you noticed this?

Some people think that Lazio played very well and we played very badly, but I cannot accept this statement. I understand that coaches need to keep quiet and work hard during this difficult time. But the way the team performs doesn't always change, it changes as circumstances change, which is what all teams go through.

Which loss bothers you the most?

All losses have the same damage.

Do you think this is the real Juventus?

I don’t read newspapers or watch the news. I live in my own world. I feel really bad now because we've lost three games in a row.

Which aspect do you think requires more effort? Is it a technical aspect or a sense of belonging to the jersey?

We’re talking about everything, not just belonging. We have to be more focused, make sacrifices and improve the quality of our game. Everyone should stand in front of the mirror and reflect on themselves.
