Recently, Celtic forward Tatum accepted an exclusive interview with People Magazine to review his Achilles tendon when it ruptured. Excerpts are as follows:

He was helped out on the court and placed in a wheelchair: "I broke down and started crying. I was thinking, 'Can I go back to the past?' At 27, I felt invincible, but it all changed in a moment."

In the locker room, Tatum was surrounded by his trainer and mother Brandy Cole, and he couldn't get comfort: "I really sat there and cried two times I was a kid, because countless thoughts flashed through my mind: ‘Oh my god, is my career over? Will I be traded? Will all my partners abandon me?’ My basketball career flashed before my eyes,” he said, “I was at my peak, one of the best basketball players in the world, but it felt like it was taken away.”

”It may sound crazy, but I feel like I’ve been betrayed by basketball.” He said.
