Former Polish national goalkeeper Jan Tomashevsky believes that the mistake of Barcelona coach Frick caused Lewandowsky to fail to become a candidate for the Golden Ball.

As one of the greatest goalkeepers in Polish history, Tomashevsky played for the national team in 1974 and 1978 World Cups, and briefly joined the Spanish club Hercules in the 1981-82 season. Tomashevsky expressed a clear attitude towards Frick's future in Barcelona: "Barcelona should break up with the current head coach." He accused Frick of not using Lewandowski for making reasonable use of Lewandowski.

He believes that the reason why Lewandowski is currently away from the competition for the Golden Ball is that Barcelona failed to win the Champions League. "I think Lewandowski should at least be in the top ten shortlist of the Golden Balls. In addition, Tomashevski also expressed his incomprehension why Barcelona, ​​which has excellent players such as Lewandowski and Yamal, failed to win the Champions League last season.

"Frick can't continue to coach, I hope they won't renew their contract because the German coach is not doing well. With such a strong lineup, Barcelona should have dominated the European arena.
