Heat officially announced that Taylor Herro had left foot surgery to relieve posterior impact syndrome and was expected to be absent for eight weeks.
From October 1, Hero is eligible to sign a three-year, $150 million early renewal contract. The deadline for renewal is October 20.
Last season, Herro played 77 games for the Heat, averaging 23.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 0.9 steals per game.
"Posterior impact syndrome" is a pain syndrome caused by repeated squeeze and impact of tissues in the posterior ankle when the ankle is extremely downward (plantar flexion). It is very common in people who need to perform frequent toe downward movements.
